Halloween is one of those holidays that you can go all out for when it comes to home decor. It’s all about the creativity. You can make a space look dark and dainty looking or just add touches of Halloween-themed colours to transform the space.
Typically the colours have always been orange and black when it comes to decor for this season of spookiness but more decor stores dedicated to the home are bringing touches of dark purples, lime greens and even pops of red.
We are loving the pillows that are available this season. They are the perfect mix to any sectional. By purchasing a couple of new throw pillows it adds that perfect touch to a room full of precasting decorations. The Day of the Dead decorations are gorgeous too with all the bright colours. They have quite the selection at Party City this year.
Another Halloween trend we are really digging this year is all white pumpkins. They looks so pretty. We had the opportunity to pick up a couple at our local corn maze a few weeks ago. We can’t wait to carve them in about a week’s time. Did you know a great way to keep carved pumpkins last longer until the end of the month is to apply petroleum jelly inside the pumpkin where the carved areas are? This prevents pumpkins from drying out and getting wrinkly-looking. It’s also water repellant.
If you’re really into the dark and dreary looking decorations for the front yard to spook the kiddos, Dollarama has a great selection of decor. We picked up some vintage looking tombstones that are actually made out of styrofoam.
If you are planning on hosting an adults-only Halloween party, I highly recommend trying out this Hocus Pocus Cocktail by The Foodie Affair. It looks and tastes delicious!
