Calgary & Area Holiday Market Guide 2016

reindeerwithadamIt’s (almost) the most wonderful time of the year! We are getting into the spirit by putting up our holiday lights on the house before the snow arrives next week. And its also the time of the year to shop all things handmade at the upcoming holiday markets around Calgary & area. We’re taking a small break from completing our final bathroom remodel in this house (can’t wait to share those details this month) to round up some of our favourite upcoming holidays markets.

We had the opportunity to explore the Millerville Christmas Market this weekend & we loved it! Although we are missing the snow this year, the market was full of handmade gifts, baked goods and an abundance of decor for your home. We picked up some beautiful ornaments and a vintage looking sled for decor purposes. We even got our pictures taken with Santa and met all of his reindeer. I have a feeling Adam now wants a reindeer for Christmas… This market runs from November 10-13, 2016 and admission is only $5 per person. You can find more information with this link. Here are some of our other upcoming favourite arts and crafts markets coming up before Christmas.

Spruce Meadows International Christmas Market. This one takes place over three weekends (Nov. 18-20, 25-27 and Dec. 2-4). There are plenty of imported goods from around the world at this holiday market. Make sure to bundle up as there are vendors indoors and outdoors but they have plenty of hot chocolate to warm you up.

Market Collective. This has quickly become one of the must attend holiday market events in Calgary. This market also takes place over four weekends (Nov. 25-27, Dec. 2-4, 9-11 and 16-18th) Every week there is a fresh line up of new vendors, entertainment, artists and food vendors. Admission is only five bucks per person.

Little Modern Market. The main goal of this holiday market is to bring the energy of the Calgary downtown arts markets to the suburbs. Plenty of handmade goods to purchase including items for babies, kids and the rest of the family. Cost is only five and happens on November 26, 2016.

Festival of Crafts. With more then 250 vendors at this Christmas market, it is one of the bigger shows that comes into town. This market showcases work by talented artists all across Canada. Cost is $7 per person and runs from December 8-11, 2016.

We hope you get the opportunity to take a break from the daily grind, renovations or whatever it may be that you do, bundle up your family & check out one of these upcoming Calgary holiday markets.
